Welcome to our first issue of This Week in Crypto!

This week the total market cap hit an all-time high of $835 billion (at close 7th Jan), climbing an incredible $200 billion from the 1st Jan. Almost all coins did well in the first week of the year – whether this is more people getting into cryptocurrency or perhaps just mirroring of the traditional stocks and shares rally that usually starts a new year is yet to be seen.

Bitcoin: The biggest and original coin, led the rally with an increase from $14,100 to a close of $16,275
